ABOUT
US
The Ability Life Initiative is a non-governmental organisation designed to partner with both individuals, bi-lateral and multilateral organisations to implement innovative solutions to challenges faced by persons with disability. Nigeria will take the lead as we work with the country’s diverse and unique needs to build sustainable systems and practices for persons with disability.
Our Story.
VISION STATEMENT
MISSION STATEMENT
From early childhood, we have both been keen to help out in our local communities, this was as little as charitably giving our after-church ice cream money to those less well off at the church gates.
Years later, having been exposed to global cultural perspectives through our foreign education in the United Kingdom for over 7 years, we began to think about how to apply our experience and insights to better our own country.
Disability is something that has affected only a small number of people around our own lives. However, it is something that we have a strong yearning to pursue alleviating.
One day, on a summer trip back to our own country we began to realize the short end of the stick persons with disabilities have in Nigeria. From lack of accessibility in physical structures to lack of awareness and inclusivity in the society at large. We have decided to wake up every day to use our resources and that of those willing to aid this initiative to create a community, a country, and even a world where persons with disabilities have the opportunity to live a healthy and productive life.
